The European Manufacturing Strategies Summit saw figureheads from the global manufacturing industry address key issues affecting the market.
The three-day event held in Dusseldorf, Germany, from 7 October, invited visitors to take part in interactive workshops, as well as view the usual outlay of speakers at this Autodesk sponsored event.
Erwin Burth, sales development director of Autodesk, and Karl Thysell, CTO of HTC Sweden, presented a workshop for CAD users wishing to experience their designs before they are real early in the design process. Thysell outlined how such software helped his firm slash the number of physical prototypes from five to one, and helped increase company growth from $7.5 million to $56 million in six years.
Burth, said: "Attending EMS has been a good experience for Autodesk. As the leader in design innovation, we had the opportunity last week, to expose our value proposition for manufacturing, to a senior management arena and we came back with very interesting contacts. We were particularly proud to recognise the winner of the Green Manufacturing Award, the company Ideko, based in Spain.
"They manufacture highly sophisticated NC machines for special metal and composites, and demonstrated unparalleled performance in environmental manufacturing," adding, “At Autodesk we are very committed to sustainability and keep on investing in this domain."
The award was presented by Peter Hobday, one of Britain’s best known broadcasters.
